Double Buggy

The Double Buggy or Twin Stroller is an essential pushchair if you are a parent of twins or of two children of different ages. Choosing the perfect Double Buggy can be a difficult task as there is a wide range of double buggies to choose from with nearly all of them coming with plus points and minus.

So which will Double Buggy will work best for you on your circumstances, if you are driving around a lot, a flat fold double buggy that fits easily into the boot of your car would be the perfect choice but if you were a parent that did a lot of walking then it would be best to go for a rough terrain double buggy. If you lived in the middle of town then an easy to carry umbrella fold Double Buggy would make getting on and off the bus for example far much easier.

Below you will find a brief summary of a recent Double Buggy test carried out for the best performing Double Buggies in each of the three categories.

Umbrella Fold Double Buggy : Maclaren Twin Techno
The Maclaren Twin Techno ticks all the boxes when it comes to an umbrella fold double buggy. In addition to the usual pushchair features, the Maclaren Twin Techno has washable seat covers, independent sunshades, bottle holders, and includes foot muffs, rain cover, and head huggers for each baby. The Maclaren Twin Techno is a smooth operator; testers found this double buggy easy to push, maneuver, fold, and carry.

Flat Fold Double Buggy : Graco DuoRider
The Graco DuoRider isn’t quite as attractive as the Maclaren Double Buggy, but what it lacks in looks it makes up for in function. The Graco DuoRider double buggy is a breeze to push and maneuver. This light Graco Double Buggy weighs in at a slim 10.5kg. The Graco DuoRider collapses with one hand and fits easily into the boot. All of this comes at an attractive £129.99. However, the Graco DuoRide double buggy does not come with a rain cover, and some testers said the swivel front wheels can be a little squirrelly.

Rough Terrain Double Buggy : Mountain Buggy Terrain Double
The Mountain Buggy Terrain Double was the only Double Buggy to rank well in the rough terrain category. This tough double buggy is solid and sturdy with smooth-ride air filled tires and a heavy duty rain cover. While the Mountain Buggy Terrain Double performs well over bumpy lanes and cracked pavement, the lack of swivel wheels makes this buggy difficult to steer around sharp corners.
